Weekend, Get. Away!
You've had a great week. You ate right. You worked out almost every day. You kicked some ass in Spin Class. Then Friday night happens. Saturday happens. Sunday happens. The Weekend happened. You ate great food. You hung out with great friends. You drank a little too much wine. You treated yourself to some ice cream.
Monday. You ate your face off the entire weekend and now you feel like Jabba the Hut after a few too many drinks on the pleasure barge. You think you have failed yourself. You think it's going to be hard to recover from this fiasco. You think you've gained back all the weight you just took off.
I'm here to tell you, you're RIGHT! You sloth! You fat slug! YOU, You, you....are human and you are no different from anyone else out there going through the same issues. I'm here to tell you that this too shall pass.
I'm going to start with saying one simple phrase: It takes 14 DAYS of eating like a diabetic at a Paula Dean backyard BBQ to accumulate 1% of body fat. So you have only a couple days of eating bad. Monday might be a little tough but that's because it's all mostly in your head.
Eating like crap makes you feel sluggish. You probably took in a lot of sugar and salt. You may feel and actually be bloated. The important thing to do is GET BACK ON THAT WAGON!
Forget about the last few days. Move forward. Know that Tuesday you will be back to normal if you exercise and eat clean and DRINK WATER! I'm a diet coke addict. If you drink one glass of water after every can of diet soda that can help in counteracting the salt intake. Mostly because you are peeing it out.
Stop feeling guilty. Don't see it as a failure. Don't deny yourself good food and good friends. Just work a little extra harder on Monday.
